App Store purchase · Official manual
Opens the App Store product page in a new window. Shadowrocket is available only on the App Store.
Check the App Store listing for current pricing and system requirements.
01 / STORE
Check your account's storefront before you buy. Shadowrocket isn't available in the mainland China App Store. The country or region for the Apple ID used for App Store purchases determines which store content you can see and buy. The button on this page links to the US product page, but opening it doesn't change your account region. The App Store may show a message based on your account and the store currently active on your device.
Your device language, time zone and current network don't determine the country or region of the account used to make purchases. If you can't find the app, see an availability message or don't see a purchase button after opening the link, read the message and check the account used for Media & Purchases. An English-language web page doesn't mean your account is using the corresponding storefront.
On your device, open Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Authenticate as prompted, then check the current setting. To find the option to change it, open Change Country or Region on this page. Menu labels may vary by system version; follow the labels shown on your device.
Changing your country or region may depend on your account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing settings and payment details for the new region. Read the requirements shown by the system and resolve any outstanding items before deciding whether to continue. This account setting doesn't guarantee that every account can change regions immediately. If you encounter a restriction, follow the message on your account page instead of repeatedly submitting the request.
If the Apple ID at the top of your device differs from the one used for Media & Purchases, check the latter: app purchase history belongs to the account that actually made the purchase. After confirming the region, reopen the product page and verify the developer, app icon and app ID. Store availability, purchase confirmation and download completion are separate stages; identify where the process stopped before troubleshooting.
02 / VERIFY
Use the product page's identity details; don't rely on the name or search ranking alone.
Search results with the same terms may point to different products. Similar names or icons are not enough to confirm an app's identity. Open the product page and check these three details. If any do not match, return to this page's App Store link and verify before purchasing.

02
White background with a blue-purple outlined rocket; compare it with the official icon in this site's header.
03
932747118, matching id932747118 in the product URL.
Check the full developer name in the product page's developer information; don't rely on whether the description mentions Shadowrocket. Compare the icon with the official one in this site's header, including its background, outline and colors. The icon is only one part of the check—verify it alongside the developer and app ID.
The app ID identifies the specific product. Check that the product page URL includes id932747118. Page titles, App Store descriptions and search snippets may be shortened, so don't use them in place of the full link and developer details. If the link is difficult to view in the App Store, return to this page, open the specified product page with the button above, and check it again.
Before buying, also review the compatibility section and current price. Local currency varies by storefront and isn't a reliable way to verify an app on its own. System requirements determine whether your current device can install it. Check version history on the App Store product page; the order of topics or content in this guide isn't an app update log.
03 / IPHONE
Complete the App Store purchase and installation before setting up the app or granting system permissions.
On your iPhone, open the App Store product page using the link on this page. Verify the app details and compatibility, make sure you're using your own purchasing account, then follow the App Store prompts to buy it. Check the listing for system requirements. If the store says your device isn't compatible, check your device and system details first; don't treat a compatibility issue as a payment failure.
After confirming the purchase, wait for the App Store download to finish. If progress stalls, check whether your network can reach the store and whether your device has enough free space. Then check for account verification or billing alerts. Repeating the purchase won't resolve an issue with payment details. If you've paid but installation hasn't finished, don't assume you need to buy the app again.
After opening the app for the first time, prepare your own subscription or server details. The app purchase and connection information serve different purposes: the purchase lets you restore access to the app, while the connection details are used to establish a connection. Before importing, check that your information is complete and still valid, and that its protocol matches the original. Example addresses and text in tutorials aren't usable server details.
The first time you turn on the connection switch, the system may ask to add a VPN configuration. This is a system-level permission for the connection. Make sure the request was triggered by Shadowrocket, then read the prompt and complete verification as instructed. Buying or opening the app doesn't grant this permission. If you dismissed the prompt, try connecting again to see whether the system asks again.
When the connection switch is on, test an actual destination and check your routing settings; the switch's color alone doesn't confirm that all requests are handled as expected. If installation is complete, troubleshoot configuration and connectivity rather than buying the app again. For import and connection steps, see the Getting Started guide; for switch, network or timeout issues, see Troubleshooting.
04 / IPAD
iPhone and iPad share the same purchase record; check connection details separately on each device.
Shadowrocket supports iPhone and iPad. One purchase with the same Apple ID can be installed on both devices when they meet the App Store compatibility requirements. If you bought it on iPhone, first check that the iPad App Store uses the same account for Media & Purchases, then look for Shadowrocket in your purchased items. You don't need to treat the second device as a new purchase.
If the iPad product page still shows a price, pause before paying and check the original purchasing account. The account used for system services, the account used by the store and the account you remember purchasing with may differ; use your purchase history to confirm. Also make sure the original purchase was for the app with ID 932747118, not another app with a similar name.
The wider iPad screen may arrange lists, details and settings differently from iPhone. To find a feature, look for interface labels such as Home, Config and Settings instead of matching a control's distance from the top of the screen. Reinstalling the app doesn't automatically bring subscriptions, server details or configuration from another device. Check what's available on the iPad before connecting.
After importing on iPad, grant the system VPN configuration permission on that device. If only one device fails to connect, compare the networks, imported details, Global Routing options and system permissions on both devices. This helps distinguish device setup differences from a missing purchase record.
The compatibility section on the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision. Check the listing on the device you plan to use for availability and purchase details. Universal purchase availability and system requirements are determined by the App Store listing; the App Store remains the place to get the app. An installation on iPhone doesn't establish the system requirements or steps for another device type.
05 / RESTORE
Restore the original purchase first, then restore your own connection details.
After changing devices or deleting the app, use the Apple ID that made the original purchase to find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased and download it again. You don't need to pay again for the same purchased app. Some system versions show this under an app list in your account; follow the current menu labels. The app must still be available in your storefront and compatible with your device.
First confirm the account, then search for the app. If it doesn't appear in the list, check whether the purchase was made with another account you use or whether the item is hidden. If the product page shows a price, don't buy again just because you remember seeing the app on an old device. Check your original purchase history to confirm that the purchase completed and identify the product.
Downloading the app again restores the app itself. After installing it on a new device, import your own subscription or server details and check the configuration you plan to use in Config. Don't assume purchase credentials include server addresses, authentication details, rules or other personalized settings. If your old device still works, make sure you can retrieve the information you need before switching, and store it securely.
Protect your privacy when restoring connection details. Subscription links and server authentication details may grant access; don't post full links, passwords or screenshots containing them in public forums. If your information has expired, check with the original service provider. Reinstalling the app won't fix expired server details or create new connection information.
The system may ask to add a VPN configuration when you connect for the first time on a new device. Confirm the request on that device. After restoring your setup, check the imported details, selected configuration, Global Routing and connection results in order. If only one website has a problem, check its rules or your network; there's no need to start over with the purchase.
Check Family Sharing eligibility in the App Store product page's Family Sharing details and your family settings. Follow what the current storefront shows. Family Sharing, restoring a purchase under the same account and migrating app configuration are separate matters; don't assume that a result for one applies to another.
06 / PRICE
App cost and connection service costs are separate.
Shadowrocket is a paid commercial app sold as a one-time purchase, with no monthly client fee. The US App Store price is $2.99; check the App Store listing and purchase confirmation for the amount charged. Other storefronts show local currency, so don't assume the US price applies everywhere or use an old screenshot to infer the current price.
Before confirming a purchase, check the app name, developer, payment amount and account in use. A one-time purchase describes how the app is sold; it doesn't mean every account can inherit the purchase, and it doesn't replace a compatibility check. To restore the app under the original purchasing account, first look in Purchased. If the store asks you to resolve a billing issue, follow the account prompts.
The app handles importing information, choosing routing options, applying rules and initiating connections. Whether a connection works also depends on whether your existing details are valid, the server is reachable, your network and your current configuration. A successful purchase and a successful connection are separate checks; a payment record only confirms the app purchase, not service status.
App updates are delivered through the App Store. Check your device's App Store updates section to see whether an update is available, and read version history on the product page. This guide doesn't list specific version numbers or update dates, which could be mistaken for current release information. If you plan to change your configuration before updating, note your existing settings so you can compare them if anything changes.
If the purchase isn't complete, first check the storefront, payment details and system prompts. If the app is installed but won't connect, check your existing connection details, VPN permission and routing settings. Identify which stage has the problem before taking action; this helps keep connection issues from being sent back through the payment process.
PURCHASE QUESTIONS
Use the current message to locate the issue: verify what happened before taking the next step.
First, check the country or region for the Apple ID used for Media & Purchases. Shadowrocket isn't available in the mainland China App Store. Page language and device location don't determine your account's store region. Open the product page using the App Store button on this page, note the message shown by your current storefront, then check your account region.
First distinguish an incomplete purchase from a stalled download. For a purchase issue, check account alerts, payment details and any outstanding balance. For a stalled download, check your network, available device storage and App Store compatibility requirements. Note the exact App Store message and follow its instructions; don't repeatedly confirm the purchase.
Using the Apple ID that made the original purchase, find Shadowrocket under your App Store account's purchased items and download it again. You don't need to pay again for the same purchased app. If a price still appears, check the purchasing Apple ID, purchase history and current storefront. After installing the app, restore your own subscriptions, server details and configuration.
Shadowrocket supports iPhone and iPad. One purchase with the same Apple ID can be installed on both compatible device types. The iPad layout may vary with screen size. Check the App Store listing for system requirements.
The compatibility section on the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision. Check the listing on the device you plan to use. Universal purchase availability and system requirements are determined by the App Store listing; the App Store remains the place to get the app.
First identify Home, Config and Settings, then follow the Getting Started guide to import your existing subscription or server details. Under Global Routing, Config, Proxy and Direct are different routing options. Don't switch between them based on a guess at their English labels. Check the terminology guide and make sure your information is complete before connecting.
